It is learnt that Urdu daily Islam and weekly Zarb-e-Momin are the nursery for pro-Taliban and pro-takfiri journalism in Pakistan. Alongside them, another Urdu daily Ummat preaches similar ideology. Their workers work in the guise of journalists and they have helped terrorists to make hit list of Shiite journalists across Pakistan including Karachi city. There are reports that nasbi elements within Jamaat-e-Islami are also close to said Urdu dailies and the weekly. The JI-backed Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Dastoori Group) is also another organization that works against the journalistic norms. Some of its members too are close to takfiri nasbi terrorists. One of Punjabi Taliban terrorists arrested in Karachi was made member of Karachi Press Club due to backdoor efforts of JI-backed PFUJ’s members.
