It is my experience that all of these benefits come from praying the rosary. The rosary is scripture. The Hail Mary is from Luke and the Our Father is the prayer that Jesus Christ, our Lord taught us as recorded by both St. Luke and St. Matthew. The rosary contains 20 mysteries on the Life of Christ. We meditate on the Annunciation, when the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. (Luke 1) We meditate on the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth. (Luke 1). We meditate on the birth of Jesus.(of course scriptural, Luke and Matthew). We meditate on the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, Luke 2. Then we meditate on the finding of Jesus in the Temple. Luke2:42-43, 36, 49)Then we meditate on the Baptism of Jesus Matt 3: 13-15, 16-17.Then we meditate on the Wedding Feast at Cana, John 2:3, 6-7, 8-9,11. Then we meditate on the Proclamation of the Kingdom of God. Matt 13:31-32, 45-46. Then we meditate on the Transfiguration: Matt 17:1-3, 5. Then we meditate on the institution of the Eucharist. Matthew 26:26, Luke 22:19; Matthew 26:27-28. Then we meditate on the Agony in the Garden Mark 13:32-33, 35-36; Luke 22:43.Then we meditate on the scourging at the piilar, Matthew 27: 24-25; 1 Peter 2:23.
