It is my hope that people that I never hear from read this and question themselves. Ask yourself.. Why cant we live together. A few likes and a share or two wont do it. You must ask yourself Why. With all the craziness in the World I woke up thinking WHY..? Can somebody tell me why we cant live together. I dreamt of an old love and.. it was so pleasant. Then..I awoke. I realized that I shouldnt have to retreat to the recess of my mind to find peace and yet.. all around me there is turmoil. It dawned on me that pitting brother against brother is an insidious..yes insidious way to win a war. A war of control and power. WHY..why cant we live together..? Control is not the few gathering the masses but more the masses joining in one idea..indivisible.. recognize that..? Power is only truly understood when it is restrained not forced. It takes a village to raise a child where/when did we lose the idea of togetherness..? There is a lie that is pervasive out there and it is that we are all fighting for our own ideals, and it has pitted us against one and another and we have allowed it to happen, all the while believing, that we are standing for what we believe in. Black against white and right against left and poor against rich and Muslim against Jew and the list goes on and on and on.. it is maddening how we have bought into this ridicules concept. Last March I wrote this piece, it is about my thoughts on Freedom. I think it also expresss a format for understanding how we can achieve Peace among us, all of us, not just one society or one religion but all of us: Freedom always comes with a price. Freedom isnt free, youve heard it said many times. Youve seen it on the face of WAR Veterans. Freedom does have a price, a price that goes beyond the loss of limb and life. The price of Freedom is self-restraint. Freedom means that your right to express yourself has a limit. It is limited to the very same Freedom others have. We must all understand that OUR rights end where others rights BEGIN . Freedom does not mean do what you like regardless of others. It means do what you like with RESPECT to others, not in-spit of them. Acting in the interest of only yourself is not Freedom, it is arrogance and selfishness. True Freedom is about compassion. Taking into account the feelings of others, the needs of others, the beliefs of others, the desires of others. Yes, and at times, the stupidity of others. Freedom carries with it, a great deal of respect for others rights, before your own. In doing so you ensure your right to Freedom. I am sorry..but sometimes it gets to me.. I am only human..just like you. Yeah..we are all just like you. WHY..? why cant we live together..?
