It is no secret that I dont like The Guardian very much. Always sneering at the Daily Mail and yet it is every bit as wrapped up in its own self-importance as that other accursed organ. The finger-pointing, Told you so! yin to the curtain-twitching Well, REALLY! yang of the Mail. I hate both papers equally. Annoyingly for critics of The Guardian, it generally has a very good record of reporting on the right aspects of - or made possible by - neo-liberalism and picking them to pieces very well. I have no problem with this, I just cant help but feel that The Guardian only do it to make The Guardian look the clever one and have the toe-in-the-water pinkos of Islington and Balham guffawing again. But there - you generally have to get up early to catch them out at The Guardian, so who let this howler out? A touching story of Theo (a fine, blue-collar name) and his girlfriend who couldnt afford to buy in Ludlow, so self-built for £120k. ON A CHUNK OF LAND HIS PARENTS GAVE HIM.
