It is not gnosticism to say that God is spirit... It is gnostic to say God is elsewhere.. Up there ..or seperate from creation. It is not gnostic to say that we are spiritual beings.. As well as having physical bodies... It is gnostic to suggest that the body and all matter is evil. It is gnostic to say we are trying to become spiritual.. It is not gnostic to say that everything is spiritual at its core. Quantum physics is revealing that all matter is basically empty space.. And what we see is the result of energy or fields.. Undergirding all of this is the devine consciousness.. Christ the eternal word who is God and is with God.. In whom we live and move and have our being. Christianity is supposed to be a.shift in perception about the nature.of this God as being For us.. Rather than hostile towards us. The godhead who.gives life and breath to all things.. Who is the substance and.cohesion of all things. Known as Father.. We are created in the image.and.likeness of this God who is a relationship. In which we are the objects of his love and adoration. We cannot escape his love.. We can only be blind to it or understand and enjoy our God who honours us as his own beloved children in whom his soul delights.
