It is possible to go to church, never miss a service and still be lost. True Christianity is a personal experience. The battle is in your mind. Every thought must be brought into obedience to Christ. Each new day must begin with this question: Lord, what do You want me to do today? When He calls our name we must readily say, Yes Lord here am I. We don’t see the big picture like He does. Perhaps He needs us to cross paths with someone who is hurting and in need of Him today. Then too, He knows what battles we will face, the traps the enemy has set for us. He said to Peter, satan has desired you – but I HAVE PRAYED FOR YOU THAT YOUR FAITH FAIL NOT! YOU SEE WE HAVE TO STAY PRAYED UP – AS YOU ARE GOING – Each morning we must put on the WHOLE armor of God that we may withstand the whiles of the enemy. We are living in the time when Jesus will return for His bride. The devil knows this and is relentless in his attack upon the church – not only to destroy us but to prevent us from setting the captives free. That’s right – Jesus’ agenda included freeing the captives –His agenda is now ours. At the very least – we must be battle ready. He may not call us to slay any giants like He did David – but what if He does? David was doing what he was supposed to be doing! We must put the Lord 1st. He must be Lord of our lives no matter what He asks us to do. Has He asked you to do anything lately? If not – why? He has given us the great commission – preach the gospel, heal the sick, witness – if we overcome by the power of our testimony – are we testifying? The enemy is trying to shut Christians down – but maybe we’re making it easy for him – maybe he doesn’t have to work that hard – maybe we are not much of a threat! It is good for us to gather together – but – the Bible says GO YE! Punching in & out of church on a time card is NOT part of the plan. The Old Testament commands us to talk about the Lord to our children 24/7. So salvation starts at home – then Jesus said love our neighbor as ourselves – if you love someone you want them to be blessed! We are even commanded to forgive and LOVE our enemies! Satan is trying to shut us up – are we even trying to get the Word out? Fasting and prayer are necessary for Jesus said some devils can only be cast out or brought down this way. So if we don’t have regular fasting & prayer time we are not battle ready! Carnality – laziness – creeps in and paralyzes us, then not only is our guard down – but we can no longer wage war on the enemy. We are to set the captives free but we wind up in bondage ourselves! The Lord’s will needs to consume us – He must be 1st in our lives! The one your members serve is your boss – flesh must be brought down. If there is no battle & this is just a cake walk – Why do we need armor? If we have no enemy – why did Jesus say pray ye therefore – the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak – if we don’t need to pray – why does Jesus make intercession for us? He described Nineveh as not knowing their right hand from their left – refusing to destroy her – and He had to FORCE his messenger to go! To warn her! We don’t know our right hand from our left if we don’t understand His will and great love for sinners – LIKE US! Now we are His children. Which son are we? The one who said no – I’m not going - & later did his father’s will – like Jonah – or the one who said – sure dad, I’ll go & did not. He did not save us to sit on a church pew. Satan loves that – he has not deviated from his plan – if he can set us down & shut us up – WE LOSE! Then we will have their blood on our heads! Who is that group of people in the Bible who say – Lord we did miracles in Your name – Jesus said – I NEVER KNEW YOU! We should be well acquainted with Him by now – to hear His voice – to listen & obey. I’m not saying it is not important to go to church – we must hear the Word of God preached to us by the man of God Jesus has given us to WATCH FOR OUR SOULS – but we have to have a personal relationship with Jesus – sit at His feet – prayed up, armor on – fighting the good fight – pulling souls out of the fire – teaching our children – ever growing in grace and Truth. THERE ARE NO CHEERLEADERS IN THE PRAYER CLOSET – but Jesus sees & will reward us openly! EVERY IDLE WORD is noted in Heaven – DON’T BE IDLE! We are on the front line! Do we have the full armor of God on? Who have we told about Jesus great love & mercy and wonder working power today? Do we believe it for ourselves? If we really believe it we’re going to obey! If we really love Him we will not be able to resist His voice & will. We won’t want to resist – we will greet Him every morning with these words – HERE AM I LORD! SEND ME! You are 1st in my life – what will You have me to do? If you think you can’t do anything for Him – can you pray for those you think can? It is a complete lack of faith to believe God can’t use you - & evidence that you do not know God at all! His strength is made perfect in weakness – He uses the foolish to confound the wise – Just make yourself available to Him & He will use you. Gosh, I’d hate to have you lose that warm fuzzy feeling & make you THINK & open your eyes to what’s happening around you – even Wal-Mart has a morning meeting with boss! So – are you attending your mandatory morning meeting with THE BOSS? Picture 2 armies, you are privy to enter unseen into their camp. You observe the morning planning session – 1. Prepare 2. Know the enemies tactics 3. Offensive & defensive plans made 4. GO! Personally – I am at a place in my life where I wonder – what must I DO to be saved once again – I am getting in the game – THIS IS WAR! You know since I was little the Lord has had angels watching over me – before I even knew Him! One example was when I was on fire – my mom had trained me not to use the pretty towels LOL – an angel said this time its okay - & instructed me to get it wet in the sink 1st – then put it on the flames – The Lord’s love is beyond compare – meet with Him every morning in prayer! He will prepare you – make your path straight – Put Him 1st – be ready to do His will! Prepare by praying & fasting 1st & put Him 1st & it will be a labor of love.
