It is programmed from an early age with African American children to hate their hair. It breaks my heart to see so many children battling with self image issues because society makes you feel like you cannot succeed with a certain hair type. Although I still indulge with hair weaves and straightening tools im starting to feel more and more convicted with the decisions I make concerning my hair. There should be a balance between what we say and do. Very important to remember that although you may not be a working professional model you are still someones model. Stop blaming entertainment and look at yourself.
