It is quite difficult for us to preach like Jesus did. This is so because of our Human weakness. But the bible left us with two Human preachers ---- JOhn the Baptist and the Apostle Paul. Both are humans like you and me. We could learn from them how to confront unbelievers with the message of the gospel. They called sinners to forgiveness, telling them the good news that God will forgive their sins if they repent and receive Jesus Christ as Messiah and Savior. In reading the pattern of preaching of John and Paul, I am amazed by their lack of any kind of effort to win people over with smooth talk. They were not smooth talkers. Both are infact harsh,strong, very exacting and punitive in their delivery of the Gospel, John for example in confrontation with the Religious leaders said You brood of vipers. Or The ax is already laid at the root of the trees, every tree therefore that doesnt bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Paul on the other hand, in setting the truth that there is no other Gospel said, If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! It is very sad that there are so many Christians who are afraid to speak out the plain truth. They smooth talk the sinner and water down the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the process. I would like to leave you with the words of the Apostle Paul in Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
