It is remarkable to me how much heart I have developed for this - TopicsExpress

It is remarkable to me how much heart I have developed for this issue. This article features elderly Americans who have absolutely no preparation or idea about the world they are released to after 20-30 years in prison. One woman said she hid nervously as she watched everyone around her talking to themselves (through their iPhone earphones and microphones). Another man spent his entire sentence learning how to become a printer, with the hopes of getting a job upon his release. No one stopped him. No one told him that theres no need for this job anymore. Inmates are COMPLETELY unprepared to re-assimilate back into our ever-changing society. How can we, for one second, think that simply locking someone up, without any effort for rehabilitation, is a good idea? A 25 to life sentence for an truck robbery??? Is it really necessary to waste our money (and this HUMAN BEINGs life) holding people in a system that does nothing to benefit them or the society they return to one day?
