It is so dang easy to stereotype people if we arent careful. You know what I mean, most young black men are dangerous, Muslims are all terrorist etc. the crap people buy into because of the media. Well today I met the sweetest Muslim woman ever. She is the customer service manager at the grocery store I shop at. I noticed her service pin that she had worked there since 2003 and started a conversation with her. Long story short she was beautiful inside and out, she married at 16 in Palestine then moved to America with her husband. They have raised three wonderful girls and he owns two gas stations and one restaurant, she works at Price Chopper and loves it because she gets to bring joy to people every day. She told me how much they love America and that in America anything is possible . I loved her story, just think two immigrants that have worked hard their entire lives have accomplished more than the average american in business. Yes most stereotypes are wrong and YES with hard work anyone can change their lives and their destiny. She blessed me today with her story. Just think if we talked more, edified people and were open to the culture, faith and traditions of others what kind of world could we live in? I for one would love to live in that world. And in case no one else has told you this in a while, I love all of you who are my friends here on faceback. Red and yellow black and white, married, divorced, single, gay, straight, faith, atheist, republican and yes even my democrat friends :). May each of you be richly blessed with good health, success and most of all Love.
