It is so painful for me to see a child suffer! Being a real friend means journeying with people though the inevitable messes/heartaches of life! I walked into a Shands Peds ICU room yesterday only to see a 6-year old girl named Rhianna (Cousin of my friend) strapped to her bed, with tubes into both arms and her mouth, and her thin legs kicking for exercise. She and her good parents have been living in that room for a month now! As soon as I saw her, I felt Gods pain over her suffering and tears came to my eyes (I fought them back as I wanted to be an encouragement to her). I was asked to pray for her, and as I started praying it was hard for me to choke the words out. However I am expecting good things to come! People often get bitter at God when kids suffer. He HATES it more than a trillion times of all of us put together! But He will not control us and His good purposes will triumph. I believe God allows suffering in this world to get our attention and save us from far greater suffering, making it a useful act of mercy. Not a popular view. Would you join me in praying for full recovery/healing for this sweet little girl? And for perseverance for her kind spirited mom and dad? Thank-you.
