It is something to consider on Veterans day. One of the most precious freedoms we thank them for is protecting our Republic from those very real threats in the world that would undermine our right to live in a democratic society. As messy and frustrating as our system is we STILL have the power (somewhat) to influence and shape our government, on the national, state, and local level, through the power of our vote. We need to be careful not to elect politicians who will send our troops into harms way carelessly (like the last president) and tell us its to protect our freedom when our freedom wasnt threatened in any way. I think our troops deserve better than that.
