It is starting to frighten me how many people think buying and selling monkeys makes them a sanctuary. I actually heard of a woman in the Orlando area who is asking people to help her set up a Sanctuary/Educational facility by donating money so she can buy some monkeys! OMG! It will be a place to teach people how to love and play with monkeys!?!? FWC will be all over her ass the first time she lets anyone under 16 play with them, not to mention the insurances necessary. Holy crap! ...and the educational aspect? Plus she will need U.S.D.A. licensing for such a venture. What constitutes education/knowledge? Sounds more like a personal zoo...Somehow, I rather doubt this is a viable charitable institution...more like a personal money maker disguised as an educational experience.
