It is such incredible news that the founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) in New Delhi, Mr. Kailash Satyarthi a childrens rights activist, who is working to end child labor and create child friendly villages throughout India, has won the Nobel Peace Prize along with the inspiring Malala Yousafzai. During my fellowship with the Advocacy Project and Backward Society Education (NGO based in Dang, Nepal) over the summer of 2013 I got a chance to talk with Mr. Satyarthi about how his child friendly village module works and how effective their work has been. In hopes of bringing about similar changes in Nepal. I remember with such passion he told me stories about his work and how he is present at every raid and the emotions that he goes through during these raids. It is great to know that such hardworking people are being recognized for their dedication to fight for human rights and to give a voice to the voiceless as the Advocacy Project says! We are so privileged to be have a life where school, family, friends, love, happiness are all in our hands and we get to decide our futures. Many children around the world do not have these same privileges, instead they are stripped from all of these upon entering this world.
