It is true that without a vision, the people perish. It is true - TopicsExpress

It is true that without a vision, the people perish. It is true that Africa, the second largest continent in the world, the sleeping giant, is awake. Africa, once referred to as the dark continent is lit, because a vision is declared. I knew that the first woman leader of the African Union, Dr. Dlamini-Zuma, she, who when elected, I referred to, as Mother Africa, was going to chart a course or plan for the development of her HOME continent, her people and her children. A woman leader would always seek the interest or wellbeing of her children and people. I wonder why we waited so long. In this years Africa Union conference, she proposed to replace the name Africa Union with Confederation of African States. This means a stronger political union. What a power house! But more, she spoke about a Confederation of African States with high speed railways, a common language, diplomatic clout, cutting edge fashion, and leadership in space, a vision to be realized in 2063. This vision, which she called a grand reality is the fifty year future of Africa, with a regional manufacturing hub in Congo, Angola and Zambia, silicon valleys in Rwanda, Egypt, Nigeria and Kenya, and equal access for women to education and business ownership, an Africa which is to become a leader in renewable energy, with WAR A THING OF THE PAST. For years, the AU has been busy with conflict management. Now, this grand reality is a development goal. It is good that her vision is about the physical development of Africa and development of the peoples lives. May her VISION become a REALITY for the people.
