It is very rare that you come across an actor blessed with just the right combination of godperfect dialogue delivery skills and an unshakable body language. It did not show the beautiful touristy Kashmir, it showed the Kashmir which is a reality for many, it showed how you would never know how much your cricket bat mattered to you till you saw it in the debris of your burned down house. Haider will take you through enviable and uncomfortable places, through the tree trunks and through the unbelievable snow dug graveyard and the army camps where they torture beyond human dignity. Haider will also beautifully take you through a series of complicated relationships, a bold story comparing afspa to chutzpah (it takes guts), it is not your regular Bollywood kind, it will disturb you and it will shake you. It will not attempt to wait and let you understand, it will switch its characters with the flow and with the situation. It is difficult not to laugh and feel bad for shahid Kapoor at the same time. I dont remember the last time a Bollywood character gave me a goosebump. He has done justice and more to the character. He has redefined the character of Hamlet in my head and Im proud to have replaced it. You cant stop yourself from loving him and feeling his anger in the bulbul dance. If not for anything, please go and watch this movie to understand shahid and tabus relationship, an immense unnatural bond between a son and a mother which treads him away from what he seeked, from what turned him into a merciless killer from a poet and which ultimately made tabu lose everything by choice. If brilliance were to be renamed, I would name it Haider.
