It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I have to report that the local music scene has lost one of its brightest lights. Anderson Lynne Mar, whom I first met many years ago at a metal event that she was promoting, has passed away due to injuries suffered in a house fire. Anders and I crossed paths on many occasions, and, while we were not close friends, working within different genres, we would cross paths many times over the years, whether it be at an event she was promoting or with a band that she was performing with. She was always a sweetheart when I would speak with her, always fully engaged and attentive. Her love of music, especially local original music,was something that I greatly admired and respected about her. She was always excited about the bands that she worked with and came in contact with, and her level of professionalism was second to none. I, like many others, am still in complete shock over the news. There will never be anyone to replace her, but maybe thats how it is supposed to be. Maybe, her gift in life was to teach all of us about how to be passionate about what you love to do and to treat others with respect and support. For those that follow, these would be great lessons to learn, from one of its greatest teachers. So long Anders, the music scene misses you already.
