It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of one very near and dear to us. Almost two years ago, Hanua was left tied to our fence. He was in rough shape. He was thin, beaten up and had an infected left eye - you could tell his life had been tough. He could barely walk the driveway into the shelter. He was given a comfy bed and a good meal and from there - we all fell in love. Hanua was always a happy guy. He loved everyone he met. The day he had his eye removed he was wagging his tail just an hour later - nothing ever got him down. Those that met him fell head over tails in love. After some time with us, an amazing family offered to foster him. But he won them over too. He officially found his forever home. Hanua would always be ready with a snuggle and a lick and his favorite past time was lounging in the waves at the beach. A short time ago, he was diagnosed with end stage cancer. Yesterday, he went to sleep one last time and crossed over the rainbow bridge. Hanua, you will be missed and you will always be loved. Thank you to the wonderful Akins family who opened their hearts and home to this beautiful boy. Our prayers are with you. Gone, but not forgotten. R.I.P Hanua!
