It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the homegoing of longtime Gloryland Baptist Church choir member Doris Signater. Doris Macpie Signater, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, departed this life on Wednesday, January 8, 2015 at Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet. She was a educator in East Baton Rouge Parish for 20 plus years. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Johnnie Signater; daughter, Jewel (Devin) Harris and son, Javin Signater; 6 sisters, Mertha (Czar) Dunbar, Annie Laurendine and Joyce Dunn of Baton Rouge, LA; Janice, Oretha and Edna Fields of Port Allen, LA; 2 brothers, Wilson (Doris) Fields of Baton Rouge, LA, and Arthur (Dorothy) Fields of Suisun City, CA. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Janie Fields and two brothers, Calvin and Edward Fields. Doris enjoyed spending time with family, eating, shopping, and supporting her Southern University Jaguars. Viewing, Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 9am-11am at Gloryland Baptist Church with service to follow at 11am. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Cemetery.
