It is with much sadness and with a heavy heart that let my friends know of the loss of one of my closest friends. Tony Watson passed from this life into eternal rest yesterday while vacationing in St Thomas with his wife and closest friend Kathy. Tony had what appears to have been a massive heart attack while he was snorkeling. Tony and Kathy have been living in England for several years after moving from Virginia but both of them are from the Savannah / Rincon area. Tony and I worked together in the plumbing & HVAC distribution business for many, many years. Together with Tony & Kathy we traveled to some amazing places from Spain to Africa across the Strait of Gibraltar, to Puerto Rico just to name a few. We worked together and lived in locations from Orlando Florida to New York and have made some of the most amazing friends along the way. When Tony and I worked together in NJ/NY we thought we would help solve the “communication gap” between the north and south. For many years we would put together a skiing trip out west and we would invite three or four “Yankees” and three for four “Rebel Rednecks” to join us on the trip. We may not have solved all the communication problems but we SURE had fun trying. I know that many of “my” friends didn’t know Tony but to know him was to love him. To those of you who did know him, I know you feel the same emptiness in your heart that I feel. My brother from another mother will be missed. As of this moment in time all I know about the funeral arrangements is that the family is working toward bringing Tony home. I will post information as I get it from the family.
