It is with sad regret that we the trustees of the Last Chance - TopicsExpress

It is with sad regret that we the trustees of the Last Chance Hotel announce that we will no longer be using Cornwall Animal Hospital. Today they turned away one of our dogs who has a serious eye infection, unless payment was made there and then. As for many years we have run an account with the cooperation of CAH, the fosterer didnt think it necessary to take money along. We as a charity have used CAH for many years, and the majority of the monies raised is utilized to pay our vet bills with CAH. Whilst not the most prompt of payers we have always settled our debts with CAH which is Over £27,000 in 2013 and so far this year we have spent and paid £30,000. The slightly unpleasant communications which have been held have been led by Trevor Chalker & Jenny Jarman have resulted in restrictions being placed on our account, with fresh terms forced upon us that we, as a charity, cannot adhere to. It has left us feeling that in essence they have taken the step to push us out and there is some discussion that this has been the intent, for a long time. So therefore because of the actions of the trustees, and vets, which today placed an animal at risk, we will now be transferring all our accounts to a new vet. There was no indication of the veterinary service with CAH being suspended, in fact an agreement was made between ourselves and CAH that the next update would be 15th January 2015. As we have already been in talks with the new Vets due to our growth and whom have been absolutely fantastic in helping make the transaction easier for us, and all our followers, we have decided the move will sadly be made in full now. We respectfully ask that all fosterers whose charges need to see a vet, please pm any one of the admin on here for details of the new Veterinary of who which we will be publicly releasing later this week. We are also happy to provide this information to adopters, who wish to follow us, to our recommended veterinary practice. It is of course a good thing if we all use the same Vets because our costs will be kept low, as the better the spend with the practice the better pricing they can offer and communications on cases is so much easier. This is in no way a professional assessment of the Veterinary practices of Cornwall Animal Hospital but is our opinion on the factual matters which have taken place. We have nothing to hide with this scenario and as a board are happy with how we as a Charity have conducted ourselves. Thank you to the employed staff at CAH who have always been warm, friendly and Supportive.
