It matters not whether you believe in a god or not. It matters not whether you celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, or Enkutatash, the Ethiopian one. It matters not that you celebrate with Dragons as the Chinese do, or you throw water as the Thai do... It matters that you light a candle and you spread light. It matters that you speak no evil, do no evil and think no evil. It matters that you embrace your enemy, that you forgive those who have hurt you, and seek forgiveness from those you have hurt. It matters that you feed a hungry person. It matters that you love a person youd rather not love. It matters that you work for peace, when hatred would be easier. It matters that you step outside yourself and help eradicate hunger. It matters that you stretch your hand out and help a homeless and needy person. It matters that you bring light in a world that is becoming increasingly darker. You, and each of you, and me, and each of us, are an army of light. May we each be inscribed in the book of life. May the abundance of the Universe enrich us and our loved ones, and may we be given the strength to achieve all the greatness that we were designed to achieve. and with that, we say, Amen.
