It may be helpful for some readers to know that modern bible translations are often undertaken by a group of translators who share the same theological position. This renders their translation true, throughout, that is to say wholly consistent with their shared theology. Often this effects the words used or added in translation of seemingly unrelated texts, as well as in key pivotal verses where one word..can cause men to..draw swords. The KJV was done by men of various Christian persuasion. Of the more modern translations..the RSV was done by the most diverse and scholarly group of all..and as a result was recognized by every major denomination on both sides of Rome.
