It may be indirect, but finances and happiness have a relation to each other. For instance, out-of-control spending may bring happiness in the short-term, but then later, there are bills to be paid. Keeping spending under control, saving for a rainy day, and saving for retirement leads to better stability and happiness in the long-term.
