It might upset some people who want to make a meal out of anything, but I miss the days before political correctness when we could laugh at anything and everything. I like stereotypical jokes about everything. I doesnt mean I dislike a race or religion if I laugh at a joke about them, or they laugh at a joke about me or my colour / beliefs. More to the point it means we are comfortable in each others company. I miss 70s sitcoms like love thy neighbour which has been demonized for decades but actually showed Eddie Booth, the white racist, for the bigot his character was. He was always on the end of that beating stick. These days I am forever being told that I have to watch what I say for fear of upsetting someone about something or other. My children have chalk boards not black boards blah blah blah blah etc etc. Its made us more uptight and created more conflict between people who once upon a time could laugh with each other about the same things. In many ways this has fragmented races and religions even more because one of the few things we had in common once upon a time was humour. We have all gone too far with our piss taking at times, and been pulled up for it but it shouldnt mean that we cant do it at all. Lighten up people (I can say that cant I without fear of retribution)?
