It`s diminishing in size while Australia`s, and the world`s population, continues to increase. Coincidence? I think not. Mankind is a pox on the planet and has spread like a virus for 60,000 years (approx), and with the advent, in particular, of industrialisation, has wreaked death and destruction on global/planetary flora and fauna, and unavoidably, the planet as a whole. But human population continues to increase in concentration, overrunning our planet home like rodents in a barn during a plague. Yet we find ourselves put in the position of congratulating those who have produced another new human. Another nail in the planetary coffin... and probably more pertinently and potently... our own. A supreme paradox. To be merrily `steaming down the tracks` unaware the bridge is out is one thing; to be doing it KNOWING it is, or simply not caring (like Conservative governments), is another. Is Homo Sapiens the dumbest lifeform here? (Not to mention the most destructive.). To say `the jury is still out` would be being way too kind. Am I being depressing? Yes. But am I being truthful, honest and factual? Yes. And there`ll be no apologies for that.
