It seems a large number of my FB friends enjoy making fun of religious and spiritual traditions and their practitioners. It also seems to me that many of them have only a very limited understanding of the breadth and depth of religious and spiritual teachings and philosophies. Not every spiritual person believes in a literal bearded sky-God, nor is every Christian a creationist right winger. There is an enormous spectrum of belief that includes people who embrace science and reason and who quietly pursue their practices without attempting to force them on others. Think of them the next time you want to mock any belief system outside of atheism.
