It seems credit reference agencies do not have to check the accuracy of what they publish. Consumers usually find out about problems after the damage has been done. So its ok for Experian to pass on incorrect information to lenders. Even if you tell them about the wrongful entries they insist that the source of the data has to update it, not them. Experian dont even have to check if the source has any right to add entries to your credit file. I never had a contract with npower - I asked Experian to prove that npower had a rightful access to my credit file - they have declined. No surprises there then.
