It seems in our country we can no longer have a conversation. Most people have their minds made up and support their decision by either 1) facts or 2) name calling (where facts go against them). Can we go back to the news providing facts and people making decisions. When I look at just the numbers (here is one example), I see a country in trouble. I see a country where actions are needed. Growing a bigger Federal Govt. and all of the waste and miss-management has not worked. Smaller Federal Govt that spends less then what it brings in. Strong State Govt., since closer to the people it represents. People complaint but I do not hear as many recommendations to fix the tough issues we face. 1) Term Limits for Congress - Only way to clean this up (12 year cap) 2) Balance Budget - How do we celebrate we only spend 600 billion dollars more then what we brought in? We all have to live within our means, why not the Federal Govt. 3) Flat Tax - We hear some billionaires pay very little, we heard in last elections about 48% pay none. Why not throw away the tax code for individuals and everyone pay a flat %. No hiding off shore, no feeling you are paying more then your fair share. We all pay same %. My recommendations to help get our once Great Country back on track. I believe the power of the individual. Minimize regulations, taxes and get out of their way. Let growth come from the Private sector and not Govt for our growth.
