It seems that the options are limited. I meet folks who claim, - TopicsExpress

It seems that the options are limited. I meet folks who claim, explicitly or implicitly, that they are seekers and then I meet others who think they have realized or are done. Where did this whole language begin? It seems to all point to some concrete experience that some have had and others havent. In glamoring something called realization or awakening into some sort of awards show like the Grammys, we have built a world of seeking v. finding. We have built a reality that does not value simply investigating presently, of being with whatever is here. It seems that we want to be able to claim something on top of all that, some identity of Im still seeking IT or I have realized it. What the hell is IT? We are human, through and through. We have only one shot at this! And when we short change ourselves by romanticizing notions of the divine or awareness or realization or stay entranced in the idea that we are already awake or that awakening is a one shot experience that we will have someday and then be fixed, we miss a wonderful opportunity to explore being human in a more profound way, moment by moment. A way that doesnt make any claims but simply remains open to investigating, allowing, loving every aspect of our experience-the good, the bad, the ugly and the neutral. Are you ready to throw out all of the glamorizing of the future as a promise land and to really be here in the now in a way that is curious more than anything else. Just curious and open, not seeking to end being human, but opening into being even more human? ~ Scott Kiloby
