It sounds like the operation in Peshawar is winding down. The final death toll yet to be determined. The media covered themselves with disgrace once again...children interviewed, cameras in hospitals...even in an operating theatre I heard. Cruising the world news channels there is universal horror. I have watched my FB friends expressing their own anguish as the day wore to a close...and yet and yet. Will this be the catalyst for change? I think not. Pakistan has a remarkable capacity to ignore the blindingly obvious and is led by politicians - all parties - that rarely have the health and safety of the nation at the forefront of their minds. Intellectually impoverished, they exemplify the culture of inertia and mediocrity that sits in thrall of the mullahs. There is no real political will to upset the status quo and todays headlines will be old news tomorrow, below the fold and in a week this will be largely forgotten. Nothing of substance will be changed by this and Pakistan will continue to sleepwalk into the waiting arms of IS. See yall on the other side.
