It stormed quite fiercely in Georgetown tonight. Prior to the summer tempest, the horses gobbled carrots urgently and pranced nimbly in response to the lightning criss crossing the sky and the thunder rumbling above. As the weather threatened, Sunshine ran circles in his paddock, trumpeting a equine thunderstorm warning before seeking shelter in his shed. We sat in the barn on the golf cart for half an hour with Bea holding a nervous Beebee the cat on her lap. The rain came down in sheets and the cloud to ground bolts struck uncomfortably nearby but the big barn kept us safe and dry. Many of the horses retreated to their run-ins or turned their backs to the wind but as the rain subsided I ventured out to find Creator planted firmly in his paddock, soaked and wild eyed as a aged Shakespearen king, daring the storm to return.
