It takes a brilliant mind to solve social problems. You have to have an understanding of human psychology, politics, and religion to a point of knowing all the different values systems and personality types people have. Then you have to be aware of what different types are saying about eachother, how they agree and disagree, the political economy of dogma. You have to understand conflicts, misunderstandings, and deliberate deceptions between people. You have to envision how these problems are created, and how they might be solved, systemically. You have to gain the trust of enough people to put you in a position of power to enact these changes. And finally, you have to have the integrity to actually do as you have promised, instead of simply taking advantage of the privilege that political popularity has bestowed upon you.
