NYC | Paid Internship (PT), Limmud NY Winter Internship at Limmud NY Limmud NY seeks to hire a part-time intern for November 2014 through February 2015 in New York City. Limmud NY (limmudny.org) brings together Jews of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs to celebrate Jewish life and learning. Limmud NY’s signature event is its annual conference, held over Presidents’ Day Weekend (February 13-16, 2015) in Stamford, Connecticut. Over 800 participants take part in this exciting, transformational program, choosing from more than 300 sessions that include music, text study, film, hands-on workshops, and more. Limmud NY is driven by the belief that diversity of perspective, dedication to Jewish learning in its broadest sense, and volunteerism are keys to engaging Jewish individuals and strengthening Jewish community. All of Limmud NY’s programs are created by a grassroots community of volunteers working in partnership with its one full-time professional. Responsibilities: The intern will work directly with Limmud NY’s Director of Programing and Operations, Conference Chairs, Steering Committee, and Board on virtually all aspects of planning our eleventh annual event. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Answering questions about the conference via phone and email Recruiting and coordinating the work of on-site volunteers during the conference Assisting individuals to register for the conference Maintaining and updating the online conference registration system Processing payments Preparing conference materials Assisting at the conference itself (work half of each day) Additionally, we will encourage the intern to get involved in any area in which s/he is particularly interested and talented, including web design, social media, copy-writing, recruiting participants, etc. Qualifications: Limmud NY believes in working with people who value our mission and are willing to work hard towards that mission. If you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach. In addition, the intern must: Have strong communication and customer service skills Be organized and demonstrate good writing ability Possess basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, and e-mail) Be able to attend Limmud NY 2015 on February 13-16 and arrive at the conference location 1-2 days early to assist with preparation Basic knowledge of Judaism is preferred, but not required. It is highly preferable for the candidate to be able to work from a personal laptop. Compensation and Time: $12/hour, plus free conference registration.
