It takes fire to forge a sword. 1Peter 4:12 admonishes us to expect firey trials. That this is a sign of the Spirit of God. Peter talks about extraordinary fiery trials, storms- heart aches- out of the ordinary pressures. God measures our progress by our ability to handle trials. Test of faith. Christ like character is forged by trials, adversity, pain. Seperation from our dependence on the ruler of this world coming out from among them It is a surgery of sorts. If your searching for the a wizard of Oz in church your cheating yourself. People assume God will bless them without a test - that they will be blessed like a man of God with a rattle in their mouth. It happens. Oh, but milk is for babies. I know, the dessert is a place where we learn to be reliant on God. I have spent time in the dessert and I did not despise it. The chastening is a hard but necessary thing. Friends are we going to the church of increase expecting Gods best? Well once we surrender our lives to God, the blessings will come, but the most important of these are spiritual blessings. We must welcome the fire, the testing of our faith. We learn how to fight spiritual battles by going to the gym. Stepping in the ring. We get knocked down. But WE HAVE THE GREAT GRACE ADVANTAGE. God knows our threshold. He wants us to be aware that its much more than we think. We have to learn to use the mind of Christ. Not the mind of Mark, Joe, Jeff, Mike, Debbie, Mary, Barbera etc..God supplies our needs according to where we are SPIRITUALLY. There is the bread of life. Every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Joy in suffering? Really? Thats the hard one. It requires us to completely let go and bask in the understanding of who we are in Christ. Preaching to the prisoners not as a prisoner. Remember what ever we are going through must glorify God. Release it in faith. Deliveance! Foothills are a sight when youve been walking the dessert, I know. it is cooler, Life flows, the mountain tops are visible. The pure waters of Lebanon in reach. God promises us victory in Christ. If we are determined to Glorify Him. Learn the word of God, allow the understanding to reach your soul. Nothing will be more rewarding than Gods holy presence residing in us. We need Gods best plan for us. God puts us through adversity in order for us to grow. Trial trouble- heartache are a part of being conformed in the image of Christ. Wisdom comes from experience. Patience is required. Godly patients is nurtured by tribulation. This is a war. We are soldiers. God blesses us, it doesnt always come from a battle of self will. But godly character comes at a price. Dying to ourselves is a process and a teqnique taught in the word of God by resting in the promises. Nowhere in the bible does it say impatiently grabbing at the promises It says be still and witness the deliverance of the Lord. Those who learn Gods precious wisdom never pray for things. They pray for more wisdom and understanding. God knows what we want. And gives a wise man or woman in Christ what they need. Let us pray, Father God, thank you for your unmertited favor. Thank you for sending Jesus, for our salvation. Thank you for our measure of faith, and your all sufficient grace. Father, we pray to be refined, a crown of truth, Lord give us precious silver and gold.. Give us your wisdom so that we may lay. a crown of Jewels at your feet Lord. Supply our every need according to your riches and your glory. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
