"I will blot out your sins and will never think of them again" - TopicsExpress

"I will blot out your sins and will never think of them again" (Isaiah 43:25). When I think of the word blot, I think of using a paper towel to wipe up a mess. First I blot the excess residue, and then I wipe up the remainder. Voila. The mess is gone. No one but myself would have known there had been a spill of any kind unless of course I would tell others. And why would I do that? Why wound I continually bring up something that is gone and has no merit over the spot I had cleaned? We confess our sins to God, ask for forgiveness, repent, He blots out our sin, yet we are the ones who bring it up again and again- not Him.
