It takes the death of a popular person in order to garner the attention of the masses regarding something that is worthy of discussion. I have read a lot of things written that have encouraged people to Get Help, in the wake of recent events. If getting help was as easy as someone simply stating so, and that is all that it took, help wouldnt come across as the four letter word that it is perceived to be, under the circumstances. Instead of simply stating the obvious, BE THE HELP! BE THE HELP that someone needs to get them out of their current state of mind. Your credentials might not bring about a viable solution, however, your presence might do more than any credentials ever could. Credentials mean nothing if something or someone hasnt been identified that could benefit from said credentials. And that is EXACTLY where we come into the picture. Take a look around you. Observe your surroundings. Listen to someone vent. Be that sounding board or voice of reason. Encourage them. Inspire them. Check in on them. Just simply be there for them. Your presence might compel them to seek out the one with the credentials that they need. By proxy, you have BECOME THE HELP through your proactiveness. Do not await the presence of tragedy in order to reactively discuss the difference that could have been made to avoid it. Sometimes we need to be the Strength that they lack. The ears that cant hear. The Heart that cant receive. And the Inspiration to their Motivation. Pay it forward so that they too can afford what we all lack at some point and time in our lives. Compassion extended beyond your existence gives way, and shows you the way, to BE THE HELP! Smile and Love Always! Corey A.
