It turned out rice sold in US contain arsenic in a level that is threatening our health. consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2015/01/how-much-arsenic-is-in-your-rice/index.htm -->about rice consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2012/11/arsenic-in-your-food/index.htm -->about other foods https://motherjones/files/finalarsenicembargo91912.pdf --->in the last page, a table of comparison (look for inorganic rice) My quick conclusion is that from US, rice from California has least amount of arsenic outside of US, rice from India or Thailand may have less, but not all of them. In the table, Archer Farms Organic Basmati (Target) -- from India Lundberg California White Basmati --- from California have the least amount of arsenic What we do: 1. Try to reduce rice consumption, like once a day. Replace rice with alternatives -- breads, oatmeal.... 2. Before you cook rice, put them in water overnight. Then before cooking, wash it several times with water. Arsenic can be dissolved in water, and this will reduce your arsenic consumption.
