It was 8 years ago this week that I left the security of paid employment for the uncertainty of running my own business. Although the 8 years have been a roller-coaster ride and there have been some scary moments on the way, I have thoroughly enjoyed the ride, the flexibility it has given me, the challenges of every new assignment and the opportunities to work alongside many gifted people and carrying out a wide variety of tasks in a range of varied organisations. September 2014 is proving to be the busiest month so far and includes helping co-ordinate a multi-million pound bid to the Home Office for a charity, fundraising work for a human-trafficking charity, sales training for a medical company, project management of a retail event at the O2 and a team-building day for 100 people from a large insurance company. Feeling grateful for my work, my trusted colleagues and my family and friends who support and encourage me. (...and now really ought to get off Facebook!)
