It was a good weekend until my beautiful wife reminded me that - TopicsExpress

It was a good weekend until my beautiful wife reminded me that Sunday, November 2nd, marked four year passing of my “Irish Twin” younger sister, Tessie. I got very sad and began looking for pictures of her when we were young on my computer. In my search I stumbled on what appeared to be an 80’s or 90’s map of Baker Camp with cabins crossed out and roads that I always felt took away from camps magic. I tried hard to remember my sister and me playing year after year after year during the last two weeks in July in Cabin C and the Camp grounds. All I could remember vividly was my first summer working as a lifeguard/bus boy in 1969. Tessie didn’t come up that year; she and her siblings went across country camping with Mom and Dad while I worked at camp. Hoping to jog my memories, I began to reconstruct the camp map to how I remembered it in 1969. Unlike my wife, whose memories stick to her mental socks like sand burrs, my recollections are sketchy at best. The map is now done, a work of numerous hours. At the very end, I finally recalled a vivid memory of Tessie and me at Baker Camp, playing on the Witches Hat, which I had forgotten all together until just now. The Witches Hat is now on the map. Tessie was the most kind and giving sister a brother could ask for and I know she would have wanted me to share this armature work with fellow campers. Know, however, if Tessie was here, the sketch would have been much better because she too had the ability to attach memories on her mental socks.
