It was a pleasure to take part in Autism Awareness Day today and stand with the legislators, advocates, and families who helped to pass SB 1484 last session. That was my bill to ensure that kids living with autism can continue to get the services they need beyond the age of 10. Autism is one of those many areas in state policy in which your race, religion, socioeconomic status, geography and politics just shouldnt matter. Texas must do more, and do better, when it comes to supporting Texans and Texas families living with autism.
