It was a special evening as Steve was recognized as a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Cumberland County Fire Chiefs Association. A proclamation by the executive committee states; Whereas Fire Chief Steven D. Blackburn is a dedicated and exceptional public servant who has loyally provided thirty-five years of public service, having served the citizens of Boonie Doone Fire District, Fayetteville Fire Department, Fort Bragg Fire Department, Cumberland County, the Great State of North Carolina and the United States Army; and Whereas, the Cumberland County Fire Chief’s Association recognize his exceptional achievements throughout his long and extraordinary membership, career, and volunteer service and commends him for a job well done; and Whereas, on behalf of the members of the Cumberland County Fire Chief’s Association, Cumberland County and the great state of North Carolina, we would like to thank and honor Fire Chief Steven Blackburn for his many years of devoted and honorable public service to our Association, County, State and our Great Nation.
