It was a very cordial and friendly meeting between the Empress and the Governor, as the Empress was completely impressed with the Governors administration and his conversation skill, the meeting ended on a happy note. When the Empress adjourned the meeting, the Governor then stood up and crawled on the carpet again to thank the Empress for her praise and then kow tow to say goodbye to the Empress for the day. As the Empress saw the Governor kow tow on the carpet, although the Empress liked the Governor, she still had a habit of doing it to any male official, and that was to show her dominance over each one of them regardless whether she liked him or not. So the Empress stood up from the silk cushioned bench, with the Governor still prostrating on the carpet before her, the Empress walked over to stand directly before the Governors head. Sensing that the Empress was standing right before him, the Governor made a slight kow tow to show the Empress of his submission before her feet. When the Empress saw his acknowledgement, she then said, All right, you may go now, but before we leave tomorrow morning, I like to have another court session with you and your assistant officials one more time. With that, the Governor acknowledged the Empress, he then crawled back up, walked a few steps backward before walking out the guest meeting hall... And although the Empress had turned herself into a kinder and a gentler Empress, because as the years went by and as the Empress became more mature and her empire more stable, she had become more sympathetic to her male subjects. However she still insisted that all male officials knelt and prostrated all the time in her presence just so she could wrap her golden fingernail on them. Occasionally, the Empress would let them stand depending on her mood of the day. The Empress would allow her servant maids to stand up before her after the initial kneeling, but the Empress still insisted the male officials, and that include the High Prince, the Prime Minister and even the half male eunuch knelt before her all the time...
