It was a wonderful 3rd session of our 8 week Public Speaking & Leadership Training Programme (PSLC) programme at Loreto College today. From 9 am - 130 pm. the 21 students went through a flood of knowledge and skills including: 1. A rousing welcome by JC Siddharth 2. Reporting on Appreciation group work assigned last week by JC Ritesh 3. A Group Quiz on last weeks training by JC Abdul Rahim 4. Updating the group scores with points given for the group work by JC Shruti 5. 21 wonderful speeches by the students for an average of 3 minutes each. The topics ranged from A funny day in college to Should Capital Punishment be banned. Indeed a rich tapestry of colour, words and skills! 6. Helpful feedback on every speech by JCs Siddharth, Nandini and Abdul Rahim for and average of 1.5 minutes. Effective reporting on time taken by JC Shruti, Grammar by JC Shreeja and Filler by JC Abhilasha. 7. A very interactive session on Memory Techniques by JC Shreeja including association, pegging, visual, auditory memory styles etc. To me the best concept was We remember that which we pay attention to. 8. A wonderful presentation by JC Abhilasha on Verbal (words) and Vocal aspects of public speaking to complement the Visual (body language) aspects covered in previous weeks. 9. A touching speech by JC Abdul Rahim to demonstrate an emotional speech using visual, vocal and verbal aspects 10. Assignment for the next week and Awards to the Best Speaker & Most Improved Speaker Thanks to all the JCs who participated to make it happen today - JCs Ritesh, Siddharth, Shruti, Nandini, Abhilasha & Shreeja - wonderful work!! And not to forget all the others who have been there earlier - JCs Ikram, Ridhi, Mahima, Vishal, and those who will be there in future!! Keep up the good work, Team!
