It was an exciting weekend of golf around the country. There were several tournaments underway, the Barclay’s FedEx tournament in New Jersey and the Fouty Willow Wood Invitational in Portland notably. Justin Rose managed to hang on to win the Barclay’s with a final round 66 beating Tiger Woods who had a 69. Len Fouty shot a remarkable 32 on the front at the Willow Wood and it came down to the final hole with Len needing an eagle on the final hole to tie Justin Rose with a 66. Len vaporized his tee shot on the par four hole ending up just off the green. A 20 foot chip in would net him a 66 and the tie. His chip rolled just past the hole and he had a tap in birdie for 67, which set a new tournament record. Fouty said he benefited greatly from the putting advice given him by his Uncle Marvin that allowed him to set the record.
