It was an honor to be invited as an external verifier at today’s Rokotsu Goshin Jutsu grading, Garry and Richard ensured the one off test day with the consideration of the continual assessments was well balanced. I was in for a well structured event with learning and displays of skills that abound. Drills, Kata, Partner work, Safe controlled Sparring, Parrying, Body conditioning, Takedowns, Break-falls, Pad Work, Grappling. I not only witness a group that now not only surpass the skills when I first come as a guest instructor but grow as a group that is a credit to its instructors and to themselves. It may be of interest to know that Funakoshi Sensei’s (the Father of karate) second book ‘Rentan Goshin Karate-Jutsu’ appeared in 1925 like this book I truly believe you have captured the spirit of actually practising what the Masters sort..
