It was exactly 1 year ago today that Jacob & I were driving from SC back to Nashville. I discovered a job posting on worshipleaders website that was for a new, progressive, United Methodist Church starting in my hometown that needed a worship leader, and I had been looking for a worship leading job that almost perfectly fit their description! I immediately called and left a message for the pastor, Jennie Edwards Bertrand (whom we knew from getting to lead worship at the campus ministry she directed the year before). I was overly excited and gushing on her voicemail about how excited I was at the possibility of working for this church. It was totally unprofessional and I was embarrassed! Then SHE called from their booth at the Sweet Corn Blues Fest and left me a message, mutually excited about the call. I was SO relieved! We hit it off again that day and Jacob & I knew pretty much immediately (before Id had an interview or anything) that wed end up here in BloNo at Hope Church. What a crazy, whirlwind, bittersweet, blessed year it has been! So glad I made that phone call, and so glad Jennie actually had her phone on her for once-HA! ;)
