It was one year ago today that my wife left us. Last year the holidays were very hard. No matter how hard I tried the kids were just broken. In the past year I have made a lot of mistakes and I have learned from each and every one of them. One thing for sure has come out of this past year: I have always considered myself hard core and tough as nails. You think youre hard core? Try raising 2 teenage girls and an autistic son ALONE while working 40 plus hours a week. The upside of this is that I have never been closer to my children ever. I wont demonize their mom. She sees them a lot and spends time with them. BUT. I am the one with them 7 days a week. I do all the laundry, clean the house, cook all the meals, help with all the homework ad infinitude. At the end of the day, when I see the respect in my kids eyes for their Father, I know its all worth it. Were going to be OK. Also; I already started Christmas shopping. The holidays this year are going to kick maximum ass!
