It was right about now, 18 years ago my best friend perished in a single car accident on a dark back road trying to avoid something. The night was much like tonight, cold and the roads were wet. He was traveling not more than few miles from his girlfriends house to his so that he and his Mom could visit his Dad in the hospital who had just suffered a major stroke. It would have taken about an hour and a half to get to the hospital in normal NY traffic. In that same approximate time, his father passed in the hospital not knowing his son had passed. To this day I believe in the power of the spirit. Reminding myself that tomorrow is not guaranteed. Appreciate the loved ones around you and always be willing to forgive. You see he and his Dad had some rough spells when he was a teen. But it was only within that last year or so that they became close once again. That night Mike made one last trip to be with his dad and take him home with him. God Bless you Mike and Mr A. Until we meet again and Go Jets! There is always next year
