It was so nice being home for a few days! It was also soo very nice being welcomed home by so much love! Thank you all that had a part in it. Marti Love and I came back to Atlanta Monday for an eye appointment and then got moved in to Ronald McDonald House. She will work in Scottish Rite Day Rehab Mondays - Thursdays to continue to build strength and independence. She is doing remarkable! Thank you God. She is more herself than she has been in months. Before her surgery we had no idea the toll this stupid tumor had been taking on her sweet body. We assumed she was having problems walking due to the compressed spinal fractures, but when we got to the hospital on Feb 10 we learned that it was instead tumor related Of course the child very rarely complains so we just didnt know how bad it was. She has regained most of her strength and is doing great walking except for one major problem. Her vision. She can not see anything to the left of her nose, it hurts my heart to type these words. We only can speculate it occurred right around the time the 2nd (emergency surgery) was needed. The doctors sure arent telling or helping. Her eye dr Monday said the eye sight would not improve, but what I have read says it is possible in 1/3 - 1/2 patients. And it is another prayer that I am lifting to Our Father in Heaven. So her walking is more of a concern now because of the things that she can not see. Thank you for praying for a child that goes with the flow, doesnt whine or complain, is a complete joy, continuously finds the good in things, is a ray of sunshine to most people she meets, cares deeply for others pain and through this nightmare she continues to sings praises to His name.
